Fairfield Estate

 The Fairfield Estate

ESTIMATED REPLACEMENT COST FOR LAND AND HOUSE $12.5 MILLION

The Fairfield Estate is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece set on 4.5 acres, offering more than 12,000 square feet of living space that is sure to captivate. Throughout its history, the estate has undergone numerous thoughtful upgrades and additions. It was built between 1864 and 1875 by Nathaniel Gillett, a local business investor and gentleman farmer, who envisioned the property as a place to breed horses, grow hops, and cultivate vineyards.

In 1900, the estate was acquired by Andrew S. White, a New York City native who became a prominent Syracuse attorney. He was the nephew of Andrew Dickson White, the first president and co-founder of Cornell University. The Whites maintained a Ritz-Carlton residence in Paris and a private residence at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. Andrew and his wife, Claire Alcee, a concert singer, filled the home with treasures, fine art, statuary, and hunting trophies. The library was personally designed by Gustav Stickley, and President Theodore Roosevelt, a close friend of Andrew White, was a frequent guest.

The grand Fairfield Mansion is located at 7078 E. Genesee Street, Fayetteville, NY 13066, in the Town of Manlius, adjacent to Lyndon Golf Course and directly across from Onondaga Country Club.

For those traveling by air, the estate is just 15 minutes from Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR/KSYR), which accommodates private jet charter flights. It is also only a 45-minute flight from JFK Airport in New York City.
